2022 mpox epidemic
The 2022 global outbreak of mpox caused by monkeypox virus clade II marked an international public health crisis. The epidemic rapidly spread among men-who-have-sex-with-men and was largely associated with sexual transmission. By July 23, 2022, with more than 23,000 cases reported in 94 countries, the WHO declared mpox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).
In this context, our lab worked in collaboration with Santé publique France to support epidemic risk assessment and preparedness. The manuscripts resulting from this work are presented on this page.
