Jonggul Lee got his PhD in mathematics from Konkuk University, South Korea, in 2016. After working as a postdoctoral researcher at the same university until November 2017, he moved to the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences in South Korea. In 2019, he was awarded a Young Researcher Program by National Research Foundation of Korea. In September 2020, he joined EPIcx Lab.
His main research area is mathematical modeling of infectious diseases. He analyzes demographic and epidemiological data on a variety of scales from individuals to countries and develops a mathematical/computational model for a better understanding of transmission patterns in space and time. He is also interested in research that can help decision-making by analyzing the effectiveness of control measures to mitigate the spread of infectious diseases.
