short bio
After getting his Master’s Degree in Physics of Complex Systems at University of Turin in 2017, Mattia Mazzoli obtained the title of PhD in Physics of Complex Systems at IFISC (CSIC-UIB), Palma, in July 2021. During his PhD he studied the role played by human mobility on epidemics, urban structure and migrations. In April 2021 he joined the EPIcx lab to work on how mobility shapes the spatial spreading of viruses at national and continental scales.
research activitiesHis main research area involves the analysis of different sources of mobility traces and their dynamic connection with epidemic records at different spatial scales. Especially he is interested in how the new variants of SARS-Cov2 may respond to different policies of mobility reduction at local and continental level.
