The key objective of our workshop is to bring together mathematical modeling experts and public health policymakers to explore the application and integration of modeling techniques into novel areas of public health decision-making processes. The workshop takes place in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and it is organized by the British Columbia Center for Disease Control and supported by the Canadian Institues for Health Research.
Over the past decade, there has been a growing interest in the application of mathematical and simulation-based computational methods to evaluate existing public health measures or design new intervention/control programs. Despite this interest, there is still a need to systematically integrate these tools into public health decision-making.
