Postdoctoral Scholar
|
Short bio Elisabetta graduated from Trento University in October 2019 with a Master's degree in Mathematics for Life and Data Science after completing an internship at Fondazione Bruno Kessler. She joined the Epicx lab in August 2020, where she worked on her PhD project under the supervision of Vittoria Colizza. She received her PhD in Public Health and Epidemiology in October 2023 and is now a postdoctoral researcher at the EPIcx Lab.
Research activities
Elisabetta is interested in infectious disease modeling and computational epidemiology. During her Ph.D., she developed an agent-based model over a primary and secondary school network to study the COVID-19 transmission in educational settings. Her project aimed to evaluate the role of school contacts in the spreading of SARS-CoV-2 and assess the effectiveness of school-based strategies that could allow for safe in-person learning. Most of the simulated strategies followed those applied in France and served to better inform authorities across different pandemic phases, from the emergence of the Alpha variant to the Omicron variant.
